About Us
The School is an education and evangelisation resource which, through its formation courses, offers dioceses and parishes a means to help develop a mission mentality among our Catholic people. While acknowledging the wider aspects of evangelisation the School has the twofold focus of helping Catholics to grow in the maturity of their faith so as to give authentic witness in their own life; and of training Catholics to present the Gospel message in an evangelistic way, based on their own testimony of lived faith, in a style which suits their own particular personality and talents.
"Simply proclaim the Lord Christ holy in your hearts, and always have your answer ready for people who ask you the reason for the hope that you have. But give it with courtesy and respect and with a clear conscience." 1Peter 3: 15-16
The focus of the School is very much on parish evangelisation based on the belief that if our Church is to again become an evangelising Church then our parishes have to become evangelising parishes. For most people their experience of Church is through their local parish or parish school. Also we have found that it is not enough to train individuals to evangelise, we need to train parishes to evangelise. It is only when the parish as a whole is focused on evangelisation that the gifts of each person are fully utilized.
However the School is also available to conduct courses or undertake evangelisation outreaches for any groups who are interested in faith development and evangelisation. We are happy to conduct courses and retreats for prayer groups, cell groups, schools as well as for parish groups.
Each Diocesan/parish School operates independently with its own coordinator and team under the authority of the local bishop/priest. However close ties are maintained with the National Executive Committee of the School and all Coordinators meet twice a year to administer the progress of the School.
